Common questions
No. SiteLimit only reads the hostname of the active tab (e.g. reddit.com) — never the full URL, the page title, or anything on the page itself. All it knows is which domain you’re on and for how long.
All usage counters reset automatically at midnight in your local time. Your configured limits are unaffected — only the accumulated time clears.
Not currently. SiteLimit uses chrome.storage.local, which is scoped to the device. Limits and usage data are stored only on the machine where you set them.
Click the SiteLimit icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup, find the site you want to remove, and delete the limit from there.
SiteLimit runs as a Chrome service worker, which Chrome can suspend when the browser is idle. Tracking resumes automatically the next time you interact with the browser. This is a Chrome platform behaviour, not a bug.
No. SiteLimit only counts time when the browser window is in focus and the tab is active. Time spent with Chrome minimised or behind another window is not counted.
