SiteLimit is a Chrome extension that tracks time spent on websites and blocks them when a daily limit is reached. This policy explains exactly what data SiteLimit handles, where it lives, and what we do (and don't do) with it.
SiteLimit collects only three things, and only for the purpose of running its core functionality:
reddit.com) of the site on the active tab. We read hostnames to know which site to attribute time to. We never read the full URL, page content, or anything else from the page.Everything is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local, a browser-managed storage API that is scoped to the extension and never transmitted over the network. SiteLimit has no servers, no databases, and no cloud infrastructure of any kind.
We share no data with any third party. SiteLimit includes no analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting services, or any external dependencies that communicate over the network.
SiteLimit requests three Chrome permissions. Here is precisely what each one is used for:
chrome.storage.local on your device. Data never leaves the browser.Time tracking data resets automatically at midnight every day (in your local timezone). Your configured limits are not affected by the daily reset and persist until you remove them manually. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.
SiteLimit does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, no special handling is required.
If we make material changes to this policy, the "last updated" date at the top will reflect the revision. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
